70 Days Without Alcohol: Zero Downsides
70 days without alcohol, and I can confidently declare: zero downsides. Literally none.
Mental Clarity
At this point, I don't even have lingering thoughts or cravings — it's simply so much more pleasant to live with a crystal-clear mind. The fog has lifted completely.
Party Fantasy vs. Sleep Reality
Sure, every now and then I'll get that fleeting "oh man, imagine hitting a wild party and going hard till morning" fantasy — but you know what's infinitely better? Getting a truly restorative night's sleep.
Honestly, sleep is such a foundational life upgrade that I'm starting to think we should all be architecting our lives around it. Everything else improves exponentially once you're well-rested. Time to build a Sleep Tracker!
Financial Benefits in Georgia
Currently, I'm in Georgia, and sobriety is remarkably more economical. Alcohol at cafes and restaurants is always outrageously overpriced — soft drinks cost a fraction of the price.
Exception: this one place with incredible fried khinkali — wine costs 5 lari, tea also costs 5 lari.
But here's the crucial difference: after tea, you're sharp and energized, ready to engage with the world and be productive. Alcohol, on the other hand, leaves you sluggish, craving a nap, and wanting to hide from everyone.
Social Life is Optional
Yes, there's an undeniable aesthetic and social magnetism around bars and nightlife — it's woven into the fabric of human culture — but here's the liberating truth: it's completely optional.
You can absolutely go out and not drink, or simply find your tribe where not drinking isn't seen as strange or noteworthy.
Zero Downsides
In short, there are zero downsides to sobriety. Literally none.
And the upsides? They're endless: a more positive outlook on life, faster emotional processing, enhanced mental clarity.
You could manufacture reasons to drink, but the benefits of not drinking are glaringly obvious and right in front of you.
Health Goals in Georgia
I'm confident that if I can achieve my health goals on this Georgia trip — lose 20 kg, establish a consistent fitness routine — the joy of inhabiting a healthier body and clearer state of mind will completely eclipse any fleeting beer buzz.
The Road to Heaven
As that reel goes: "The road to heaven feels like hell, the road to hell feels like heaven." —JSON Statham (lol)
Though honestly, eating well, sleeping properly, and working out isn't hell at all — it's actually pure, unadulterated joy.
There are zero downsides to sobriety. Literally none.
70 days complete and the verdict is clear: sobriety has zero downsides and endless benefits. From mental clarity to financial savings, from better sleep to authentic relationships, the advantages are obvious and immediate.
