14 Days Sober! (Second Week Done)

14 days sober! Second week conquered!

Week Two Was Harder

This week proved more challenging than the first. Cravings crept back in with renewed intensity, and there were moments when I genuinely wanted to throw in the towel.

But the silver lining? My sleep has transformed significantly. I'm falling asleep faster and waking up feeling like I actually rested, not just survived the night.

Energy and Productivity

My energy levels during the day have skyrocketed, and I'm accomplishing more work than I have in weeks. It's remarkable how much mental clarity emerges when the fog lifts.

Going Out Sober

I ventured out with friends a couple of times this week, ordering non-alcoholic drinks while they had their usual. It felt strange at first, like wearing someone else's clothes.

But I discovered something liberating: most of the pressure to drink was a phantom living in my own mind, not coming from the people around me.

Physical Changes

I've shed a few pounds already, and my skin has taken on a clearer, healthier glow. These small victories are surprisingly motivating fuel for the journey ahead.

Finding New Ways to Cope

The biggest hurdle remains finding fresh ways to handle stress. I used to reach for a beer after tough days like it was a reliable old friend.

Now I'm experimenting with meditation and evening walks. It's not the same instant relief, but it feels more genuine and sustainable.

Moving Forward

Two weeks down, and I'm feeling cautiously optimistic about continuing. The benefits are beginning to outweigh the struggles, like scales slowly tipping in my favor.
